Analyzing the drivers of violent conflict and factors of resilience

Using Participatory Action Research (PAR), Interpeace is conducting an analysis of the drivers of violent conflict and factors of resilience in Burkina Faso. PAR emphasizes the importance of inclusive, participatory, locally owned, driven and led processes of understanding phenomena. The rationale for such an approach is rooted in the belief that supporting the agency of stakeholders through their meaningful participation in understanding conflict contributes to the design of inclusive and locally owned peacebuilding processes. The participatory action research process will be supplemented by the use of Audio-Visual Documentation. Audio-visual documentation has proven to be a vital tool for advancing the acceptance of research findings in post-conflict countries where Interpeace is engaged. This analysis will be done in all 13 regions of the country and will ensure that all relevant actors are involved, to leave no one behind.
