March 13, 2026

In summary, this video provides an overview of the main achievements of the project “Support for mediation for resilience and peace in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo – Phase II,” implemented in the provinces of Ituri and North Kivu with financial support from the European Union.

This project aims to strengthen local mechanisms for dialogue, mediation, and conflict prevention in contexts marked by persistent community tensions and complex security challenges. Through a participatory and inclusive approach, it supports local peacebuilding initiatives and promotes collaboration between communities, local authorities, and civil society organizations.

Implemented over an 18-month period, the project focuses on consolidating existing mediation mechanisms, strengthening social cohesion, and promoting sustainable solutions to conflicts, particularly land and inter-community conflicts. The activities presented in this video mainly cover the period from May 2025 to January 2026, during which several important advances were made.

These include support for local mediation structures, the organization of community dialogues, training for local actors in mediation and conflict prevention, and the implementation of awareness-raising activities to promote peaceful coexistence.

By highlighting these initiatives, this video illustrates the commitment of local communities and project partners to work together to build a more peaceful and resilient future in eastern DRC.
