Webcast of launch of the International Peacebuilding Advisory Team on 27 February

February 14, 2014
Est. Reading: 1 minute

On Thursday 27 February 2014 Interpeace will officially launch their initiative, the International Peacebuilding Advisory Team (IPAT) at the Palais des Nations in Geneva.

IPAT is a select group of experts that can be called upon by national and international actors. IPAT advisors provide tailored advice capacity-development support and training in different aspects of peacebuilding with a focus on process design and local ownership.

Building peace is a complex long-term process fraught with a multitude of political and practical challenges. Many peacebuilding processes fail not because of deficiencies in their content, but because of deficiencies in their process. IPAT will support the "how" not only the "what", filling in an important gap in the peacebuilding process.

We welcome you to join us through our live webcast event beginning at 11:00 GMT.

The launch will be co-hosted by Michael Møller, Acting Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva and Scott M. Weber, Director-General of Interpeace. The launch will talk more about IPAT and give you the opportunity to hear policy makers and peacebuilders discuss the current challenges in the peace process, as well as provide an overview of IPAT's assignments. You can also participate in the discussion through Twitter by using the hashtag #IPATLaunch.
