2012 – The first initiative with Indigo Côte d’Ivoire strengthening local mechanisms for conflict prevention and management is launched, featuring participatory action research as well as support for dialogue platforms and community programmes.
Côte d'Ivoire has witnessed increasing economic development and strengthened stability yet continues to grapple with persistent socio-political fragility. Trust between populations and authorities remains weak, resulting in sporadic violence across communities. The presence and impact of non-state armed groups especially in northern border regions is a further destabilizing factor, exacerbated by regional political tensions.

With an approach based on the meaningful involvement of local actors, citizens, and authorities, we work to strengthen social cohesion through conflict prevention, conflict transformation, and resilience-building initiatives. Through the social engineering of collaborative frameworks and the consolidation of inclusive, transparent, and accountable security frameworks, we strengthen endogenous prevention and management mechanisms. Prioritising community-led peacebuilding, our programmes aim to support peace architectures that involve actors across levels – from local decision-makers to government authorities.
Furthermore, to address root causes and ensure durable solutions, our initiatives also focuse on cross-border peacebuilding, infrastructure development, and the sustainable management of natural resources. Youth and women represent a cross-cutting priority across our work.
