The project focuses on strengthening collaboration between administrative authorities, traditional leaders, defence and security forces, as well as women and youth, in order to prevent conflicts, promote social cohesion, and consolidate peace. By enhancing traditional mediation mechanisms and integrating them within institutional frameworks, the initiative seeks to foster inclusive and resilient local governance.

The initiative has been developed in close collaboration with the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Decentralisation (MATD) through a technical committee comprising of key stakeholders, following consultations and co-creation meetings identifying needs of target populations – and efficient and inclusive ways to address them.
