Miriam Coronel Ferrer


Co-founder of the Southeast Asian Women Peace Mediators. A retired professor of political science at the University of the Philippines. She chaired the Philippine government panel that negotiated and signed the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro with the Moro Islamic Liberation Front on 27 March 2014. Member of the United Nations’ Standby Team of Mediation Experts from January 2018-January 2021. Supported various undertakings to advance women and youth inclusion in mediation and peace processes.  Author of several books and journal articles on Philippine and Southeast Asian politics, armed conflicts, and peace processes.
