Luvini Ranasinghe

Head of Global Engagement and Secretariat

Luvini Ranasinghe is a strategic communications and engagement expert with over 20 years’ experience in the humanitarian, development and peacebuilding sectors. Her expertise spans high-stakes environments, where she has overcome challenges posed by conflict, natural disasters, healthcare emergencies, and gender-based disparities to achieve tangible results.

As Interpeace’s Head of Global Engagement and Secretariat, Luvini drives strategy to maintain and enhance the organisation’s positioning by aligning internal and external communications and ensuring effective collaboration between teams. She manages the Secretariat, leads communications and supports the President/CEO to deliver strategy, manage change and develop partnerships.

Luvini brings to bear her extensive experience contributing to global campaigns on conflict, health, migration, human rights and community engagement. Her work has spanned disaster relief and response contexts in Sri Lanka, Haiti, Nepal, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and the Democratic Republic of Congo, among others. She has engaged directly with members of affected communities, gaining first-hand experience in displacement and humanitarian response while working for the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, the United Nations Children’s Fund, the United Nations Development Programme, the French Embassy to Sri Lanka and the French Agency for Technical Cooperation and Development.

Luvini is currently pursuing a doctorate on community engagement in humanitarian action in collaboration with the University of Kelaniya (Sri Lanka), where she previously completed a bachelor’s degree with first-class distinction in mass communications and journalism.
