Duncan Maina assumed the position of Director of Finance in January 2025, following a successful 13-month tenure as Head of Global Finance.
Prior to his tenure at Interpeace, Duncan served at Tearfund UK as a Senior Finance Business Partner and Regional Finance Lead for East and Central Africa. His extensive career at Tearfund also included roles as Senior Management Accountant and Country Finance and Operations Manager, where he contributed to operations across a diverse range of countries, including the UK, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, and Nigeria.
Duncan’s professional journey further encompasses senior finance positions at Merlin UK in Liberia, where he was appointed Assistant Finance Manager, and at the Christian Council of Tanzania, where he served as the Institutional Donors Finance Advisor.
He holds an Executive Master's degree in Management and Leadership from the United States University. During his studies, he participated in a prestigious summer immersion program at Solbridge International Business School in South Korea, concentrating on the dynamics of Asian business cultures.
In addition, Duncan is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA-K) and earned his undergraduate degree in Accounting from the University of Nairobi in Kenya.
