President John A. Kufuor, Chairman of the Interpeace Governing Council and former President of Ghana, today launches the John A. Kufuor Foundation. The 2-day event is being held in Accra, Ghana.

The John A. Kufuor Foundation aims to engage in the area of leadership, governance and development. The Foundation will collaborate with state institutions, civil society organizations, the private sector, the media and development partners in order to achieve its vision of effective leadership, democratic governance and sustainable development in Africa.

President Kufuor became Chairman of Interpeace in 2009 and has exemplified the values that his foundation seeks to advance during his political career. He has shown outstanding leadership and serves as an inspiration to societies across the continent. President Kufuor has shown that he understands that people are more important than power and personal advancement, and who therefore puts his people first.

“I have no doubt that the John A. Kufuor Foundation will inspire future generations across the African continent to become visionary leaders, and I enthusiastically offer my congratulations and best wishes on this important occasion,” confirms Scott M. Weber, Director-General of Interpeace.
