From Healing to Resilience: Evidence and Lessons from Interpeace's Societal Healing Programme - Executive Summary

This summary presents key achievements and impact of the Societal Healing Programme titled: “Reinforcing Community Capacity for Social Cohesion and Reconciliation through Societal Trauma Healing’ programme”, implemented in Rwanda in the districts of Nyabihu, Musanze, Nyamagabe, Nyagatare and Ngoma with funds from the Government of Sweden.

It is a holistic peacebuilding initiative aiming to build resilience from within by addressing trauma, restoring trust, and strengthening the social fabric of communities affected by the Genocide against the Tutsi and its legacies.

It was implemented between November 2021- October 2025 by Interpeace and its partners in Rwanda: Haguruka, Prison Fellowship Rwanda, and Dignity in Detention (DiDE).
