Interpeace to partner with UN Democracy Fund
20 novembre, 2006
Interpeace has signed a partnership agreement with the UN Democracy Fund, UNDEF, as part of its efforts to build peace in divided societies.
The agreement was signed by Nick Howen, UNDEF board member and Scott M. Weber, Director-General of Interpeace at a meeting of its Advisory Council in Geneva on 20 November 2006.
“We support state- and peacebuilding processes and therefore are de facto working to promote democracy” said Scott M. Weber.
The UN Democracy Fund, which was set up by the UN Secretary General in July 2005, is currently supporting two Interpeace projects in Guinea-Bissau and Rwanda, with grants of USD 350,000 and 256,000 respectively.
