L' Institut Malien de Recherche Action Pour la Paix (IMRAP<\/strong>)<\/a> is organizing, in partnership with Interpeace, its National Conference<\/strong> at the International Conference Centre of Bamako (CICB)<\/strong> on 27, 28 and 29 January 2015<\/strong>. The objective of the event is to present, validate and prioritize the preliminary results of the consultative research on obstacles to peace in Mali<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

IMRAP aims to contribute to the renewal of a harmonious coexistence amongst Malians, and to anchor participatory dialogue as a mechanism for dealing with challenges to social cohesion and peacebuilding in Mali. IMRAP travelled across Mali as well as to Malian refugee camps in Mauritania and Niger (with the exception of the Kidal region, which could not be consulted due to security reasons). In focus groups and individual interviews, IMRAP has consulted more than 4,500 Malians on the main obstacles to peace in Mali.<\/p>\n

IMRAP\u2019s dialogue and research process is based on a three-step methodology, namely: (i) local consultations through 123 focus groups and approximately 60 individual and group interviews; (ii) regional gatherings that aimed to validate and deepen the preliminary analysis emerging from grassroots consultations; (iii) the presentation of the preliminary results at the National Conference. The National Conference, which is expected to bring together representatives from all walks of Malian society, namely from the eight regions that constitute the country and from refugee camps in neighboring Mauritania and Niger, will aim to:<\/p>\n

1)\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Present and validate the Malian point of view on the main obstacles to peace in the country;
\n2)\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Propose a space for dialogue and reflection on the main obstacles to peace; and
\n3)\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Prioritize the entry points for research with regards to finding solutions to the obstacles to peace.<\/p>\n

IMRAP<\/strong>, the Institut Malien de Recherche Action pour la Paix, is a Malian association, founded under Malian law, license N\u00b00590\/G-DB on 21 May 2014 by Malians committed to reflecting on peacebuilding. The Institute is comprised of two governing bodies: the Board of Governors and the Executive. The latter oversees the implementation of the programme entitled \u201cAgenda pour la paix\u201d across Mali.<\/p>\n

Interpeace<\/strong> is an independent, international peacebuilding organization. Interpeace was initially established in 1994 by the United Nations to develop innovative solutions to build peace. L'Institut Malien de Recherche Action pour la Paix (IMRAP)<\/strong> <\/a>organise, en partenariat avec Interpeace, sa Conf\u00e9rence Nationale<\/strong> au Centre International de Conf\u00e9rence de Bamako (CICB)<\/strong>, les 27, 28 et 29 janvier 2015<\/strong> afin de pr\u00e9senter, valider et prioriser les r\u00e9sultats de la recherche consultative sur les obstacles \u00e0 la paix au Mali.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dans le but de contribuer au renouvellement d'un vouloir vivre ensemble harmonieux et \u00e0 l'enracinement du dialogue inclusif comme m\u00e9canisme permettant d'adresser de mani\u00e8re conjointe les d\u00e9fis pour la consolidation de la paix et la coh\u00e9sion sociale au Mali, l'IMRAP a sillonn\u00e9 l'ensemble du territoire malien et les camps de r\u00e9fugi\u00e9s en Mauritanie et au Niger (\u00e0 l'exception de la r\u00e9gion de Kidal n'ayant pu \u00eatre consult\u00e9e pour des raisons de s\u00e9curit\u00e9). A travers la facilitation de focus groupes et des entretiens individuels, l'IMRAP a consult\u00e9 plus de 4 500 maliens sur les principaux obstacles \u00e0 la paix.<\/p>\n

Le processus de dialogue et de recherche conduit par l'IMRAP se base sur une d\u00e9marche en trois \u00e9tapes : (i) les consultations au niveau des cercles par le biais de 123 focus groupes et une soixantaine d'entretiens individuels et collectifs; (ii) les restitutions r\u00e9gionales visant \u00e0 valider et approfondir l'analyse pr\u00e9liminaire des maliens \u00e9mergeants des consultations initiales; (iii) la restitution nationale (Conf\u00e9rence Nationale). Rassemblant des repr\u00e9sentants de toutes les couches de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 des huit (8) r\u00e9gions du Mali et des camps de r\u00e9fugi\u00e9s, cette derni\u00e8re a pour but de :<\/p>\n

1. Pr\u00e9senter et valider le point de vue des maliens sur les obstacles \u00e0 la paix;
\n2. Offrir un espace de dialogue et de r\u00e9flexion sur les obstacles \u00e0 la paix;
\n3. Prioriser les points d'entr\u00e9e pour la recherche de solutions sur les obstacles \u00e0 la paix.<\/p>\n

IMRAP<\/strong>, l'Institut Malien de Recherche Action pour la Paix, est une association malienne cr\u00e9\u00e9e sous le r\u00e9c\u00e9piss\u00e9 N\u00b00590\/G-DB du 21 Mai 2014 par des Maliens engag\u00e9s dans la r\u00e9flexion sur la consolidation de la paix. L\u2019Institut comprend deux organes dirigeants : le Conseil d\u2019Administration et la Direction Ex\u00e9cutive.
