{"id":370,"date":"2011-10-11T07:51:27","date_gmt":"2011-10-11T07:51:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.interpeace.org\/2011\/10\/11\/great-loss-in-tragic-accident\/"},"modified":"2015-07-30T16:21:52","modified_gmt":"2015-07-30T14:21:52","slug":"great-loss-in-tragic-accident","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.interpeace.org\/fr\/2011\/10\/great-loss-in-tragic-accident\/","title":{"rendered":"Great loss in tragic accident"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On Monday, 3 October 2011, a tragic car accident caused the sad death of MP Bashir Abdiaziz Omar (Liilan) and Maryan Mohamed Abdulle (Maryan Awar) who were active members of the Steering Committee for the Decentralization Pillar of the Pillars of Peace Programme.<\/p>\n<p>Besides their central role in the Steering Committee, as agents of Change and Decision-Makers, MP Bashir and Maryan held importantpublic positions in Puntland; Bashir was a member of Puntland\u2019s House of Representative since 2004 \u2013 a man of integrity, whereas Maryan was a senior member of WAWA (We are Women Activists) Umbrella and a long-serving educator, an outspoken advocate of human rights in general, and those of women in particular.
