Interpeace a l'honneur d'accueillir deux ambassadeurs au sein de son Conseil consultatif : S.E. Eamonn Mac Aodha, charg\u00e9 d'affaires ad interim de la Mission permanente de l'Irlande aupr\u00e8s des Nations Unies \u00e0 Gen\u00e8ve et S.E. Lars Tummers, repr\u00e9sentant permanent adjoint du Royaume des Pays-Bas aupr\u00e8s des Nations Unies \u00e0 Gen\u00e8ve. Ceux-ci ont repris le si\u00e8ge pour leur gouvernement au sein de cette instance et ont \u00e9t\u00e9 officiellement accueillis lors d'une r\u00e9union tenue le 8 novembre 2022.<\/p>\n

Interpeace est reconnaissante envers l'ambassadeur Michael Gaffey et l'ambassadrice Nathalie Olijslager pour leurs pr\u00e9cieuses contributions durant leur mandat au sein du Conseil consultatif. Leur exp\u00e9rience et leur expertise ont permis \u00e0 l'organisation de b\u00e9n\u00e9ficier de conseils strat\u00e9giques cl\u00e9s et d'orientations sur les politiques et pratiques de consolidation de la paix.<\/p>\n

Avant de devenir le repr\u00e9sentant de l'Irlande aupr\u00e8s des Nations unies \u00e0 Gen\u00e8ve, l'ambassadeur Eamonn Mac Aodha a occup\u00e9 le poste de directeur des relations avec le Parlement europ\u00e9en et des affaires interinstitutionnelles \u00e0 la repr\u00e9sentation irlandaise aupr\u00e8s de l'UE depuis 2017. Il apporte plus de trois d\u00e9cennies d'exp\u00e9rience dans la diplomatie et les affaires internationales, ayant rejoint le service ext\u00e9rieur irlandais en 1990. En plus de son travail diplomatique, il a \u00e9t\u00e9 membre du Conseil de la presse irlandaise et professeur adjoint \u00e0 l'Universit\u00e9 nationale d'Irlande.<\/p>\n

L'ambassadeur Lars Tummers a \u00e9t\u00e9 nomm\u00e9 ambassadeur adjoint des Pays-Bas aupr\u00e8s des Nations unies \u00e0 Gen\u00e8ve en 2022. Auparavant, il a \u00e9t\u00e9 ambassadeur en Libye de 2018 \u00e0 2021 et envoy\u00e9 sp\u00e9cial pour la lutte contre le terrorisme au sein du minist\u00e8re n\u00e9erlandais des Affaires \u00e9trang\u00e8res. En outre, il a \u00e9t\u00e9 chef des affaires politiques \u00e0 l\u2019ambassade de son pays au Soudan, conseiller politique principal dans la mission de l'OSCE au Kosovo, conseiller politique dans la Force de protection du Kosovo, secr\u00e9taire permanent de l'ONU au Kosovo et membre de l'\u00e9quipe juridique de la Force de protection de l'ONU \u00e0 Sarajevo.<\/p>\n

Le Conseil consultatif est un organe statutaire de haut niveau au sein d'Interpeace. Sa mission consiste \u00e0 aider l'organisation au moyen de conseils et d'orientations strat\u00e9giques sur la politique et les pratiques de consolidation de la paix. Il est compos\u00e9 de repr\u00e9sentants gouvernementaux et intergouvernementaux s\u00e9lectionn\u00e9s, nomm\u00e9s en raison du r\u00f4le unique que ces personnes sont capables de jouer pour relier la politique et la pratique de la paix et de la s\u00e9curit\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Nous nous r\u00e9jouissons de travailler avec l'ambassadeur Mac Aodha et l'ambassadeur Tummers, car nous cherchons \u00e0 renforcer notre positionnement sur les principaux programmes de politique internationale.
