La r\u00e9gion de l\u2019Est au Burkina Faso a exp\u00e9riment\u00e9 une explosion du nombre de conflits entre 2015 et 2017. D\u2019un peu plus de 100 cas entre 2012 and 2014, elle a observ\u00e9 pr\u00e8s de 850 cas communautaires dans les trois ans suivants. Ceux-ci sont surtout des conflits fonciers, agro-pastoraux, li\u00e9s aux chefferies traditionnelles, interreligieux, politiques ou entre populations ou mineurs. Plus de 60%, soit 518 conflits, \u00e9taient dus au foncier.<\/p>\n

To reduce the risk of conflict over land and natural resources, and to make communities more resilient to the challenges of land and natural resource management in the East region, Interpeace is implementing since July 2021 project on \"Conflict prevention and management project in the East region of Burkina Faso\" with UNDP and FAO. The project aims to develop the capacity of local institutional actors and conflict-affected communities to analyze, manage, mediate, and resolve conflicts over land and natural resources in a non-violent manner, leading the process from within, guided by the needs and aspirations of the communities.
