Tribute to Abdihaye Garad

16 May 2012 - Interpeace regrets to announce the tragic loss of colleague and friend Abdihaye Garad, who passed on 07 May 2012.

For over two years Abdihaye had worked as Programme Coordinator for Interpeace’s local partner, the Centre for Research and Dialogue, in South-Central Somalia.

A young and devoted peacebuilder, Abdihaye’s humanity, enthusiasm and optimism spanned far and wide, and inspired all those who knew and worked with him.

“Abdihaye’s death is a tragic loss for Somalia, where he was one of the emerging future leaders,” says Abdirahman Raghe, Interpeace Somali Programme Director.

The entire Interpeace family extends its condolences to his family, friends, colleagues and the Somali community.
