Interpeace cooperates with Geneva Peacebuilding Platform

July 2008 - The Director-General of Interpeace, Scott M. Weber, has joined the Advisory Board of the Geneva Peacebuilding Platform.

Selected because of our operational peacebuilding experience, our participation enables the organization to play a meaningful role in this knowledge platform. One of the key objectives is to advance practical understanding of the key issues in peacebuilding which we believe is crucial to building lasting peace around the world. Scott joins 23 others in the Advisory Board who come from a range of UN organizations, NGOs, civil society organizations, academic and international financial institutions and other international organiziations. The Geneva Peacebuilding Platform was formally launched on 11 March 2008 as a joint initiative of the Geneva Centre for Security Policy, the Centre on Conflict, Development and Peacebuilding of the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, and Quaker United Nations Office, Geneva.
